Closterium kuetzingii BREB. The cells are 15 to 20 times longer than wide, almost straight, only apically curved. Cell apices are rounded and wear small cellwall swellings (called porus). Cellwall is lightly striated, colorless or pale brown. Chloroplasts lie only in the middle part with 4 5 longitudinal bands and few pyrenoids. Chloroplasten nur im Mittelteil mit 4 5 Längsleisten und wenigen Pyrenoiden.
