Estas plantas no se reproducen a travs de flores, es su lugar producen este tipo de conos en donde nacen las semillas.Por cierto, este grupo de plantas son muy toxicas, producen algunos de los carcinogenicos mas poderosos, aun asi, las semillas de esta especie son comestibles!!!!

Other names include Cardboard plant, Cardboard sago, Jamaican sago and Mexican cycad. A cycad native to southeastern Veracruz state in eastern Mexico. Species of conservation concern because of rare or endangered - ICUN. All parts of the plant are poisonous to animals and humans. The toxicity causes liver and kidney failure, as well as eventual paralysis. Dehydration sets in very quickly.
