Cheilanthes is a genus of herb in the family Pteridaceae. They are native to U.S. Virgin Islands, The Contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, US Minor Outlying Islands, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, and Canada. They have pinnate leaves. Individuals can grow to 11 m. They have alternation of generations.
