Maximum longevity: 25 years (captivity)
Observations: Little is known about the lifespan of the Komodo dragon. They appear capable of living at least 25 years in captivity (http://www.zoo.org/). Anecdotal reports of animals living up to 50 years in the wild are plausible but remain unverified.
