Many tourists are totally unaware of this horrific torture of the elephants. And when I say, horrific torture, I really mean horrific torture! It involves beatings, sleep deprivation, drug abuse and much much more, sometimes even leading to their deaths (a blessing in my eyes). Please everyone, when you visit Thailand don't go on elephant tours and if you can, visit this amazing Elephant Rescue Camp near Chiang Mai in the North of Thailand! You will never regret going to this amazing place with their wonderful rescued elephants, amazing people and brave founder called Sangduen "Lek" Chailert! Peace!
