Description:
Rhynchobodo (rink-owe-boe-doe) a kinetoplastid flagellate, looking very much like a large Bodo, but distinguished because there is a spiral groove leading from the point of insertion of the flagella and down towards the rear of the body. with two emerging flagella inserting into a depression at the front end of the cell. One flagellum extended forwards and actively beating, the other trailing posteriorly. Differential interference contrast with closed condenser iris.
