Coccophagus obscurus
Description:
a parasitoid wasp of the Aphelinidae family, this Coccophagus obscurus was found on the rocks of the Ladies Parlour next to Hastings Castle. Additional detail pictures below can be viewed larger with a click. Note the lack of glabrous band on the forewing, scutellum broader than long, and covered in short bristles on entire scutellum plus one pair of long bristles at apex, body entirely black except for the yellow scutellum, wings colourless, forecoxae yellow.
