Himantoglossum adriaticum (4809' N 1632' E)
Description:
2011-02-26 Vienna XXII. district (Lobau, 151 msm).Rosetta leaves of this orchid already appear in fall and hibernate, as do many orchid species of the Mediterranean - but only Himatoglossum species here in Central Europe.Another remarkable thing about this one is the habitat - it is one of the temporarily flooded heaths of Lobau, while else I know this species from places which are virtually never flooded.German name: Adria-Riemenzunge
