Substratum: soil.Place: Krakov forest (Krakovski gozd), 2.5 km north-northeast of Kostanjevica na Krki, near Malo Mraevo village, Dolenjska, Slovenia EC. Comment: Epipactis nordeniorum is a rarity in Slovenia and elsewhere. It is known from only a few European countries. The small, inconspicuous helleborine with usually only a few flowers is hard to spot. It is rare probably because the species is strictly bound to forests frequently flooded by nearby river or it grows close to natural, marshy ponds not influenced by men and such habitats are to-day rarities too. The species doesn't proliferate by normal sexual reproduction but it is self-pollinating and doesn't need pollinating insects.Protected according to: Uredba o zavarovanih prostoiveih rastlinskih vrstah, poglavje A, Uradni list RS, t. 46/2004 (Regulation of protected wild plants, chapter A, Official Gazette of Republic Slovenia, no. 46/2004), (2004).Ref.:(1) Personal communication with and shown to me by Mr. Branko Dolinar, www.orhideje.si(2) B.
