J20170622-0039Echinopsis spachianaDxO
Description:
Echinopsis spachianagolden torch cactus. Native to western Argentina. Photographed in a private garden in Berkeley, CA. I don't speak of photography techniques in the notes I post with most of my photos. I will make an exception this time. The DxO Film Pack contains a preset that attempts to replicate Kodak Elite slide film processed with Kodak print negative developer. The result emphasizes greens and yellows and sometimes makes the preset the best one for photos of plants with yellow flowers and large green leaves. In most other instances, it creates a false-color image that exaggerates greens and yellows tremendously. I chose it for this photo for I wanted to attract viewers attention to the reproductive parts ot the flower.. See the photo to the right for a more accurate rendition.
