Description:
Description: English: This is a piece of ephemera handed down to me, going back to my GGG Grandfather, J.H. Greene and has his annotation in the margin. It is a small flyer promoting "the Peoples Ticket" for the municipal elections circa 1876, Salt Lake City, Utah. I have contacted the LDS Church to find out more about this. Note the script along the edges written in the Deseret alphabet. The People's Party of Utah was a late 19th century political party in the Utah Territory that was backed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in order to oppose the Liberal Party of Utah, which was backed by anti-Mormons. Date: 25 December 2011. Source: My Scanner. Author: The People's Party of Utah. Other versions: File:Peoples Ticket, Salt Lake City, circa 1876, Mormons, Back Of.jpg.
