Staurastrum pilosum BREB. Synonym: Staurastrum brebissonii ARCH.The cells are only a little braoder than long, the cell halves are oblong elliptical, the cell ends are flatly rounded off. The central cut is deep and extends towards the periphery. The cell wall is occupied with closely standing, concentrically arranged rows of pricks. The vertex view looks triangular with concave sides. Der Mitteleinschnitt ist tief und nach außen erweitert. Die Zellwand ist mit dicht stehenden, konzentrisch angeordneten Reihen von Stacheln besetzt. Die Scheitelansicht ist 3-eckig mit konkaven Seiten. Dimensionen: Länge 30 – 40 µm, Breite 35 – 50 µm.Nur vereinzelt in Niedermooren, Feuchtwiesen und Uferzonen.
