Spring peeper

Description:

A friend stumbled across this frog near an ephemeral pond and, lacking camera, I captured it for some photos. I hear these all the time--they call a bit in fall, and then are a din in spring--but I have had little luck sneaking up on calling males.I like this photo because it shows the "X" on the back, which is not always easy to see.-Animal Diversity Web--Pseudacris crucifer
