Haltichella rufipes
Description:
A gorgeous Haltichella rufipes parasitoid wasp of the Chalcididae family found in the pear tree in the garden. Additional pictures of this magnificent beast of a wasp can be seen below, all are viewable larger with a click. Note that chunky hind femur has no tooth on the underside, scutellum has two spine-like processes, antennal toruli are below level of lower edge of eyes and just above clypeus, marginal vein is on edge of wing rather than separated from it.
