RUBIACEAE - Splash-of-white (Mussaenda pubescens)
Description:
Please note that the 'White leaves' of this plant is in fact lobed sepals that rest just beneath the golden flowers. The golden flowers though small yet very eye-catching and graceful under the sun. This plant is easily mix-up with Erose Mussaenda (Mussaenda erosa) where as Splash-of-white has soft hair at the back of its leaves. Vine and root of this plant can be used to treat diseases like Cold, Bronchitis, Enteritis, Pharyngitis, Tonsilltitis, Nephritis, metrorrhagia etc.. This photo was captured alongside a nature trail on Sai San, Tsing Yi, Hong Kong. This photo was taken by the side of the hill at the back of Mayfair Garden, Tsing Yi, Hong Kong.
