Description:
Salpingoeca, a genus of collar flagellates in which the cell is enclosed within an organic lorica. The cells have a single apical flagellum that is surrounded with a collar of fine pseudopodia that appears as two dark lines, one to either side of the flagellum and pressed tight against the neck of the lorica.
