Description:

Description: The cell halves are flat elliptically in shape. From the sides two long cell arms are away. They are bifurcated at the ends. The central cuts are deep, strongly broadened towards the periphery. The cell vertices are flat convex. The vertex view shows a star formed by (5)–6–7 cell arms in pairs.

Dimension: Length 75–85 µm, width 80–90 µm.

Occurrence: In medium acidic to acidic fens. Distributed worldwide, very rare in Central Europe.
