Description:
Variety hallii (the variety known to occur in Colorado) is described in FNA as having mid and distal leaves that are weakly, if at all, clasping; this plant's mid leaves are conspicuously clasping; the hairiness of the foliage conforms to its FNA description, the other variety (bigelovii) having foliage described as glabrous or nearly so.
