Herpestes urva (Crab Eating Mongoose) is a species of mammals in the family mongooses. They are listed in cites appendix iii. They are found in the indo-malayan realm and the palearctic. They are solitary, nocturnal omnivores. Individuals are known to live for 160 months and can grow to 506.24 mm. They rely on running to move around.
