They are native to AmazôNia, Mata Atlântica, GoiáS, RondôNia, Maranhao, Acre (Brazil), The Neotropics, SãO Paulo, Minas Gerais, Pará, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Mato Grosso, Espirito Santo, Paraná, Amapá, Cerrado, and Tocantins. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 15 m.
