Eastern Brazil in the states of Maranhao, Piaui, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba, pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, and Bahia. An apparently disjunct population exists in Suriname and French Guiana.

Micrurus ibiboboca, the caatinga coral snake, is a coral snake in the family Elapidae. It occurs in eastern Brazil, south of the Amazon.

Micrurus ibiboboca is often confused with the widespread species Micrurus lemniscatus.[1]
