They are native to Romania, Canada, Belarus, India, Greenland, China, Austria, United Kingdom, North America, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Lebanon, Germany, Lithuania, Western North America, Czech Republic, Yugoslavia, Svalbard And Jan Mayen, Afghanistan, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Armenia, Mongolia, Albania, Poland, Syria, Turkey, France, Cyprus, Georgia, Spain, Finland, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, Latvia, Norway, Estonia, Pakistan, Ireland, Alaska, Bulgaria, Iran, Russia, The Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, Eastern North America, Portugal, Greece, The Contiguous United States, and Moldova. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Individuals can grow to 73.5 cm.
