They are native to SãO Paulo, Rio De Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Distrito Federal, Rio Grande Do Sul, Tocantins, RondôNia, Santa Catarina, Sergipe, Rio Grande Do Norte, Amapá, Alagoas, Espirito Santo, Paraná, Maranhao, Piauí, Pernambuco, GoiáS, Amazônia, Bahia, Mata Atlântica, Roraima, Caatinga, Mato Grosso, Pantanal, Pará, Cerrado, Mato Grosso Do Sul, and Ceará. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 27 m.
