Mauritia flexuosa (Moriche Palm) is a species of tree in the family palms. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Ceará, Distrito Federal, SãO Paulo, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Amazônia, Maranhao, Caatinga, Piauí, Pará, RondôNia, GoiáS, Tocantins, Cerrado, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Acre (Brazil), and Bahia. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 35 m.
