Betula nigra (Black Birch) is a species of tree in the family Betulaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Eastern North America, North America, and United States. They have simple, broad leaves and brown flowers. Flowers are visited by American Red Sqirrel, White-breasted Nuthatch, Blue Jay, and Red-breasted Nuthatch. Individuals can grow to 24 m.
