Ostrya virginiana (Eastern Hophornbeam) is a species of shrub in the family Betulaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to China, The Contiguous United States, Eastern North America, North America, United States, and Canada. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Individuals can grow to 45 feet.
