Manihot esculenta (Cassava) is a species of tree in the family Euphorbiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Pará, Maranhao, Amazônia, Piauí, Bahia, GoiáS, The Neotropics, Minas Gerais, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso, Alagoas, SãO Paulo, Amapá, Ceará, Pernambuco, Acre (Brazil), RondôNia, and Cerrado. They have simple, broad leaves and green flowers. Flowers are visited by Tetragona clavipes, Thrinchostoma productum, Polybia sericea, and Melipona compressipes. Individuals can grow to 10 feet.
