큰개미핥기과(Myrmecophagidae)는 개미핥기아목에 속하는 포유류 과의 하나이다.
특징
머리는 통모양으로 주둥이가 길고 이빨은 퇴화하여 의총(개미탑)을 해친다. 가늘고 긴 혀로 개미와 흰개미 등을 포식한다. 앞다리에 4개, 뒷다리에 5개가 있는 손톱은 길고 날카롭다. 몸길이는 20-220cm이다.
분포
중남미에서 발견되며, 큰개미핥기와 작은개미핥기 등 2속 3종이 있다.
