Maeotias marginata (Modeer 1791)

This species was originally based on animals observed in European waters, thus all records as an introduced species for the NE Atlantic are - at this stage - unfounded. Only a thorough population genetic (pyhlogeographic) analysis might show which is the likely center from which the dispersal started.
