Stentor coeruleus The time lapse sequence with a period length of appr. 4 seconds shows process of defecation. Frame 2 shows the opening cytoproct with intact defecation vacuole membrane. At frame 3 defecation vacuole membrane has opened to release the waste. At frame 5 and 6 we see states of the slowly closing cytoproct.
