Euglenozoa, with kinetoplast, two heterodynamic flagella or one emergent flagellum; parasitic kinetoplastids mostly from the uniflagellate Trypanosomatidae, many hosts including animals, plantrs and other protists; life histories may be complex with two-host life cycles and morphologically and metabolically different developmental stages; includes the bodonids, which are common members of microbial food webs.
