M 27-29 mm. Outer dorsolateral ridges weakly visible, inner dorsolateral ridges usually absent. No supraocular spines or heel spine, interocular tubercles sometimes weakly expressed. Colouration rather variable, but mostly uniform with laterally dark head and a distinct continuous white stripe along the upper lip that is, however, missing in some specimens (Glaw and Vences 2007).Taken with permission from Glaw and Vences (2007).

Distribution and Habitat

Northeastern Madgascar, at Marojejy (Glaw and Vences 2007). Found at 1,250 m asl (Glaw and Vences 2008). This species was found in bushes in an artificial clearing which was surrounded by montane forest (Glaw and Vences 2008).

Habits: Specimens call at dusk and night from perches in dense vegetation, 1-1.5 m above the ground, usually not in close vicinity of open water (Glaw and Vences 2007). May be a direct developer since it does not live near water (Glaw and Vences 2008).Calls: A very slow series of relatively long unharmonious and clearly pulsed notes (Glaw and Vences 2007).
