Calidris maritima (Purple Sandpiper) is a species of birds in the family Scolopacidae. They are native to the Palearctic and The Nearctic. They are diurnal carnivores. Individuals can grow to 46 cm. They have parental care (female provides care, paternal care, and pair provides care). They rely on flight and saltation to move around.
