Western Screech-Owls are fairly common in the Davis Mountains of west Texas. This one was photographed there on a June night in 1991.

This Western Screech-Owl was photographed at Boot Canyon, Big Bend National Park, in May, 1994.

The Western Screech-Owl in this shot was a moulting adult at Rio Grande Village in Big Bend National Park. The species is very common in this location.
