Description: English: Close-up portrait of a Scaly-breasted Lorikeet (Trichoglossus chlorolepidotus) pulling back after eating nectar from a bottle-brush plant. Unlike their close cousins the Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus), scaly-breasted lorikeets are more suspicious of people and trickier to approach. They can frequently be seen hanging upside-down from plants eating nectar - being easily startled and taking off if passers-by get too close. Date: 19 October 2019, 12:50:49. Source: Own work.
