Amygdalum politum (Verrill & S. Smith)

Amygdalum politum is a species of mussels in the family Marine Mussels. They are native to Moroccan Exclusive Economic Zone, Natal, Angolan Exclusive Economic Zone, and Mozambican Exclusive Economic Zone. Adult Amygdalum politum form marine reefs. Dead Amygdalum politum form shallow marine sediments. Individuals can grow to 80 mm. They have sexual reproduction.
