Pteria avicular (Holten 1802)

Pteria avicular is a species of mussels in the family Pteriidae. They are native to Tanzania and Mozambican Exclusive Economic Zone. Dead Pteria avicular form shallow marine sediments. Individuals can grow to 13 cm. They have sexual reproduction.
