DESCRIPTION. — Antenna 1 appearing from lateral view to form a stump, but article 3 flexed medially and carrying a 3-articulate main flagellum and a 1-articulate accessory flagellum, each flagellum bearing long aesthetascs; antenna 2 with 3-articulate flagellum, article 1 hidden and telescoped in flat view; article 1 of peduncle coalesced with head, antenna 2 flush with ventrolateral rounded surface of head; eyes clear in alcohol, formed of few ommatidia in cephalic bulges, rostrum forming bulk of head; eyes clear in alcohol, formed of few omand upper lip, epistome forming small tub-shaped extension of head bearing heavily cornified hemispherical upper lip; mandible like that of Colomastix, lacking incisor, bearing 5 teeth representing spine row (not drawn in figure of mandible, but otherwise like that in Colomastix) and normal molar of Colomastix; lower lip not seen; maxilla 1 like that of Colomastix but inner plate with at least 2 heavy spines, outer with at least 9 small setae, apex of 1-articulate palp complexly serrate and spined; maxilla 2 with 2 weakly divided lobes heavily spinulated; outer plates of maxilliped heavily cornified and ventral cuticle bearing strong polygons, inner lobes fused into single conical plate, palp normally 4-articulate; gnathopod 1 bearing normal distal brush of curled setae, dactyl apparently formed of vestigial cone; gnathopod 2 of normal female morphology in Colomastix; pereopods stout, each with only 1 locking spine, no ornaments except weak slit on dactyl, article 2 of pereopods 3-5 especially broad and bearing medially set posterior lobe; inner rami of pleopods slightly shorter than outer, each ramus 4-articulate; ventral portion of pleonites 5-6 (fused) bearing 2 external plates, posterior member longitudinally divided, subanal flap posterior to latter plaque, telson small and broad, entire, and situated dorsal to subanal flap; uropod 3 with thick short peduncle bearing 1 dorsolateral projection, ramus very large, thick, and palmate.

HOLOTYPE. — SAM, female, 3.1 mm. Unique.

TYPE-LOCALITY. — Shepherd 29, D337, Pt. Noarlunga, South Australia, 5 m, reef outside; in algae, 5 September 1968.
