Halobiotus stenostomus is een soort in de taxonomische indeling van de beerdiertjes (Tardigrada).

Het diertje behoort tot het geslacht Halobiotus en behoort tot de familie Hypsibiidae. De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort werd voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1908 door Richters.

With the exception of possible H. stenostomus records for the Black Sea (Romania and Ukraine), this species has been reported from cold marine waters in the northern hemisphere, where specimens were reported in intertidal sediment or a few centimetres deep in shallow subtidal sand.
