Cynara cardunculus (Cardoon) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They are native to France, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Tunisia, Libya, Yugoslavia, mediterranean basin, Morocco, Portugal, and Spain. They have achenes. Flowers are visited by Buff-tailed bumblebee, heart longhorn beetle, 7-spot ladybird, and Mediterranean Spotted Chafer Beetle.
