Liatris pycnostachya (Prairie Blazing Star) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Eastern North America, and North America. They have simple, broad leaves, purple flowers, and achenes. Individuals can grow to 1.1 m.
