Acanthospermum australe (Paraguayan Starbur) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Ceará, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Maranhao, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Caatinga, Mata Atlântica, AmazôNia, Pernambuco, Pantanal, Espirito Santo, GoiáS, Rio De Janeiro, ParaíBa, Mato Grosso, Sergipe, Cerrado, Rio Grande Do Sul, Pará, Roraima, SãO Paulo, Pampa, Distrito Federal, Tocantins, RondôNia, China, Alagoas, Santa Catarina, Paraná, and Piauí. They have simple, broad leaves.
