Cuphea carthagenensis (Colombian Waxweed) is a species of shrub in the family Lythraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Mata Atlântica, Pampa, Alagoas, SãO Paulo, Espirito Santo, The Americas, Pantanal, RondôNia, Sergipe, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Paraná, Tocantins, Mato Grosso, Acre (Brazil), Ceará, Rio Grande Do Sul, Caatinga, Bahia, Cerrado, Pará, GoiáS, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, AmazôNia, and Distrito Federal. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Eurema hecabe and Oriental Grass Jewel.
