Opuntia (Prickly Pears) is a genus of tree in the family cacti. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are native to Puerto Rico, Eastern North America, US Minor Outlying Islands, Canada, North America, Middle America, U.S. Virgin Islands, The Contiguous United States, Western North America, and Atlantic And Gulf Coastal Plain (Agcp). Flowers are visited by Pipevine Swallowtail, Diadasia australis, Stripe-breasted Starthroat, and Lon melane vitellina. Individuals can grow to 0.5 m.
