Cyperus polystachyos (Manyspike Flatsedge) is a species of shrub in the family sedges. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Piauí, Mata Atlântica, Pampa, Alagoas, Minas Gerais, Sergipe, Maranhao, Santa Catarina, Distrito Federal, Roraima, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Amazônia, Cerrado, ParaíBa, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Rio Grande Do Norte, Ceará, Caatinga, U.S. Virgin Islands, The Contiguous United States, Pernambuco, GoiáS, Paraná, Tocantins, Rio De Janeiro, Bahia, Espirito Santo, Rio Grande Do Sul, Puerto Rico, Pará, SãO Paulo, Mato Grosso, Hawaii, RondôNia, and Pantanal. They have simple, broad leaves and green flowers. Individuals can grow to 0.49 m.
