Hellenia speciosa (Cane Reed) is a species of perennial herb in the family Costaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Puerto Rico and Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 12 m.
