Desmoscelis villosa is a species of shrub in the family melastomes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Roraima, Maranhao, Piauí, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Mato Grosso Do Sul, GoiáS, SãO Paulo, Distrito Federal, Ceará, AmazôNia, Cerrado, RondôNia, Tocantins, Acre (Brazil), Pará, and Mata Atlântica. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Melipona favosa, Augochlora, Euglossa cordata, and Augochloropsis callichroa.
