They are native to Canada, United States, The Contiguous United States, North America, Alaska, and Western North America. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Honey bee, Indiscriminate Cuckoo Bumble Bee, Common Alpine, and Hunt Bumble Bee. Individuals can grow to 12 feet.
