Parnassia palustris (Bog Star) is a species of perennial herb in the family Celastraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada, North America, The Contiguous United States, Alaska, and Asia. They have simple, broad leaves, white flowers, and loculicidal capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by European fire ant, Megaselia groenlandica, Helina annosa, and Cheilosia longula. Individuals can grow to 2.2 feet.
