Maclura tinctoria (Venetian Sumac) is a species of tree in the family Moraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Cerrado, Sergipe, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Bahia, RondôNia, Rio Grande Do Sul, Amazônia, Maranhao, Distrito Federal, SãO Paulo, U.S. Virgin Islands, Mato Grosso, Piauí, Pernambuco, Caatinga, Tocantins, Minas Gerais, Mata Atlântica, Acre (Brazil), Mato Grosso Do Sul, Espirito Santo, GoiáS, Puerto Rico, Ceará, ParaíBa, Rio De Janeiro, Pará, and Pantanal. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Polybia paulista, Brachygastra lecheguana, Protopolybia exigua, and Trigona spinipes. Individuals can grow to 19 m.
